Law Blank Studio Residency – FAQ

Welcome to the Residency FAQ! Below are common questions artists may have about participating in the Law Blank Studio Residency. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out.

A coaching residency for 1–2 selected artists, offering mentorship, studio access, business coaching, creative collaboration, and a final exhibition. Participants will leave with tangible tools, professional assets, and new creative insights.

Each residency lasts either 3 weeks, or 4 weeks, with set hours for mentorship and open studio access.

Emerging or mid-career artists looking for creative growth, practical guidance, and professional momentum. Open to all disciplines and backgrounds.

    Yes, this is a paid program. Here are the rates*:

  • 3-week program: $1250
  • 4-week program: $1650

  • *Rates are subject to change.

    Fill out the application form (CLICK HERE). You’ll be asked about your background, portfolio, availability, and goals. A lot of information will be asked of you, but it is to ensure this program aligns with your goals and aspirations.

    Applications are reviewed by Law Blank. Artists are selected based on clarity of intent, alignment with the program’s values, and potential for growth. Once you apply, notice is provided within 5-8 days.

    Payment is due upon acceptance to the program. You will be sent a Welcome letter from Law and an invoice link. Your spot in the program is only secure upon payment.

    Yes. You may price and sell your work during the exhibition. There is no commission* taken for solo show events.

    *25% commission will be applied for sales at the yearly Residency Program show.

    Each participant will bring their own materials to facilitate the work they are doing. Each artist is provided with a worktable and chairs, storage, access to water and Law's workshop for woodworking.

    Absolutely. You’re encouraged to apply again in future cycles.
