I have felt a great deal of comfort straddling the worlds of representational work and abstraction. However, I gravitate towards abstraction that focuses on retaining a narrative, but not from a contrived space. Each painting starts out with a line and builds from there. The story unfolds as the picture takes shape and it gets blocked it in like a piece of fine stained glass.
Narrative paintings tackling the vague and mysterious memories, emotions, and omissions of childhood.
